The "stazzo", a typical Gallurese structure (from the Latin "Statio"), was an autonomous territorial and economic reality that reached its peak between the 1600s and 1800s. The owner engaged in agricultural and pastoral activities to sustain their family and workers. This required the use of a relatively vast territory, ranging from dozens of hectares for smaller buildings to hundreds for larger ones. The Lìccia Bàrria stazzo is located in the prestigious Surrau valley, nestled between Arzachena and Palau, known for its exquisite wines.
The valley is also celebrated for its favorable geographical position, impressive granite rocks, and continuous archaeological interest. Lìccia Bàrria is easily accessible, just half an hour from Olbia Costa Smeralda International Airport and the ports of Olbia and Golfo Aranci; only ten minutes by car to Palau harbor, where ferries depart for the stunning La Maddalena archipelago, a designated National Park. The property spans 6. 2 hectares and retains the original building from the early 1800s, which has been completely restored.
