Completing this section of the property is a highly convenient conference room and the fabulous dining hall, which is open on three sides thanks to large windows, offering breathtaking views of the valley, the pool, and the towers of San Gimignano.
Adjacent to the main property stands the former barn, which has been transformed into apartments following an exceptional renovation. The estate is complemented by over 3 hectares of land, forming the park of the Villa. A bit of history: Set in spectacular countryside, Villa Ducci dates back to the 1300s when it existed as a watchtower, serving as the perfect vantage point to admire San Gimignano. The hotel, established in 2003 through a meticulous renovation, revolves around this ancient tower, one of the 72 that dotted the medieval landscape of this uniquely historic town.
The towers in San Gimignano were not built for defensive or military purposes; rather, they were isolated elements symbolizing the power of the families that owned them. The taller the tower, the more significant the family, which is why, depending on the fortunes of their owners, the towers were raised or lowered. Evidence of this incredible history is still visible at Villa Ducci today. On the ground floor of the villa, you can find the remnants of the tower around which the business center was constructed over the centuries, including warehouses, storage facilities, and workers' houses.
To complete the entire complex, the villa was built in the late 1700s as the summer residence of the Ducci family, after whom the hotel is still named today.
