In the heart of Ancona's historic center, adjacent to the Teatro delle Muse, stands Palazzo Jona. Formerly known as Palazzo Millo, later Bourbon del Monte, and once the headquarters of the Banca Nazionale Toscana, it is now known as Jona. This exquisite palazzo was rebuilt in a late Baroque style in the 18th century. The design is initially attributed to Luigi Vanvitelli (1700 - 1773), who was in the city for the construction of the Mole Vanvitelliana and the renovation of Palazzo Ferretti and the adjacent church.
However, there are divergent opinions, including the attribution of the characteristic corner balcony overlooking the square and the church solely to Vanvitelli, while the overall design of the building is believed to be the work of Carlo Marchionni (1702 - 1786), the director of port works and the author of the reconstruction of the Church of San Domenico, along with Francesco Maria Ciaraffoni (1720 - 1802), who completely rebuilt the Church of Santissimo Sacramento just a few steps away. Palazzo Jona underwent a complete renovation in the early 2000s. The noble apartment for sale, approximately 500 sqm in total, is located on the 3rd floor with an elevator. It has undergone a conservative restoration that preserved the internal works of Giuseppe Pallavicini (1736 - 1812), which were also previously attributed to Vanvitelli.
The entire apartment is rich in artworks: frescoes, ceilings, paintings, a small chapel with a holy water font, decorated doors with frames and other marble details, and some floors crafted by Venetian artisans
